  1. 吗- Ma- A particle used at the end of a question

Sample Conversations


A: 你好吗?                                      ( Ni hao ma?)                (How are you?)

B: 我很好。 你呢?                        (Wo hen hao. Ni ne?)  (I am good. How about you?)

A: 我也很好。。                             (wo ye hen hao.)           (I am good too)

B: 你爸爸妈妈都好吗?      (Ni baba mama dou hao ma?  (Are your parents doing well?)       

A: 他们都也很好。             (Tamen dou ye hen hao)          (They both are good)


 

A: 你渴吗?                              (Ni ke ma?)       (Are you thirsty?)

B:我不渴。我很饿                  (Wo bu ke. Wo hen e) (I am not thirsty. I am very hungry)

A:我也很饿。                         (wo ye hen e) (I am very hungry too)



A: 你累吗?                               (Ni lei ma?)(Are you tired)

B:我不累。你呢?                    (Wo bu lei. Ni ne?) (I am not tired. What about you?)

A:我很累。                                (Wo hen lei)    (I am very tired)


These were some of the most basic conversations that one can familiarize oneself with.


你好吗?(Ni hao ma) is a common greeting that is commonly answered by ‘我很好‘ (Wo hen hao). It is used between people who have already met each other.
